    STUDENT LIFE

At Marquette Law School, there is a lot going on both inside and outside the classroom. There are dozens of events and organizations to explore.

    • Marquette Mentorship Program: Pairs incoming students with second- and third-year law students who assist them in easing the transition to law school and helping them quickly integrate into our community.

    • Organizations: Over 40 social and professional organizations provide students opportunities to get involved and to nurture their diverse interests. Student organizations frequently host networking receptions and panel discussions with members of the legal community.

    • Community: We are known for our close-knit, nurturing, and cohesive student body. Students come together at Marquette from all over the nation, forming life-long friendships.

There are constantly events happening at Marquette, and that's in addition to all of the student organizations on campus that hold panel discussions with attorneys or career panels or have networking events and mixers.

One of the big programs that really helped me out was the mentorship program. So essentially, a lot of the first year students will be paired up with the second and third year law students, and it really creates not only professional relationships, but also like friends that will last a long time. For example, like myself, I'm still pretty good friends with my mentor, and she's been helping me along the way up until graduation.

I think the student orgs here are really what make student life and Marquette Law. I'm particularly involved in two organizations, the first being FGP, First Generation Professionals, and the second is Asian Law Student Association. And through these organizations, I found my friends and I found a sense of community in them.

I've had the opportunity to be involved in quite a few student organizations on campus, mostly Sports Law Society, Student Bar Association and the Marquette Immigration Law Association. One of my favorite experiences so far has been with the Marquette Immigration Law Association, where we host an annual clinic to help local members of the community become naturalized citizens. It's a great way to not only help out those in our community, but also to gain some practical legal experience and also just doing something nice for someone else.
