    CAREER PLANNING

    • Individual Attention: Marquette Law School’s staff supports our students as they explore and define career objectives, helping them to craft job search strategies that complement their goals through one-on-one, personalized engagement.

    • Consistent Partnership: The Career Planning Center offers services and resources to students beginning their first year and works with them continuously through graduation and beyond, helping to navigate resume-building, preparation for interviews, and more.

    • Alumni Support: Alumni serve as panelists to provide job-search insights, hold mock interviews, and mentor our current students.

    • On-campus Recruitment Program: Our on-campus recruitment program brings law firms, government agencies, and companies to interview and hire students for summer jobs and post-graduate employment.

The Career Planning Center team--truly we love what we do, and it is so rewarding to work individually with students as they come in with goals and interests.

Marquette Law has their on campus interview program. The school really works with first year students to prepare them for this experience in holding information sessions throughout the fall to kind of talk to you about resume prep and how to act professionally in a law environment. So, I know I personally met with the Career Planning Center to make sure that I had cover letters and all of my application materials set and ready for applying for internships.

During your 1L year, you will have to start interviewing for employers for your summer job, which is a very important aspect of your legal career. The Career Planning Center will sit down with you and help you through that whole process. They will go through mock interviews. They will sit down and help you draft questions to ask the employers. The Career Planning Center helped me lock down a position at the Kenosha D.A.’s office, which I'm very excited for this summer.

If you choose Marquette Law School, we are 100% on board wanting to get to know you to build a strategy that's going to get you to the place you want to be professionally.
